The Vision
To minister to the Body of Christ (all ethnic groups, and varying backgrounds) for the purpose of perfecting the saints, edifying and unifying the Body of Christ.
History
In July of 1979, while pastoring Faith C.M.E. Church, God informed Pastor Robyn Gool and his wife, Marilyn, that their ministry was to take another direction. In obedience to God, Pastor Gool informed Bishop Linsey, who was presiding over the Carolina Conference. After visiting with Pastor Gool and hearing the things that were put in his heart by God, Bishop Linsey released him with honor. On July 27, 1980, Victory Christian Center began officially in a warehouse building 11 miles outside of the city of Charlotte, NC with 64 persons in attendance on that day. God has greatly increased the ministry since then.
Today the outreach ministry of VCC, More Than Conquerors Ministries, reaches out to the community and the world through numerous channels. VCC owns and or operates radio stations in Charlotte, Salisbury, Wadesboro, and Gastonia. The church also owns a community television station in Charlotte. The More Than Conquerors telecast is broadcast locally 7 days a week (Click HERE for the broadcast schedule). Along with the television and radio broadcasts, VCC reaches out through its very own publishing company called Conquerors Publishing. It is responsible for publishing several of the dynamic books authored by Pastor and Mrs. Gool.
The programs that originated from Victory Christian Center have touched and changed the city of Charlotte. Super Saturday is an outreach to inner city youths which has been in existence for over 15 years. The church also has outreaches to senior citizens, the homeless and those who are incarcerated. In 1998, Church in the City began as VCC's first satellite church founded to meet the needs of Charlotte's inner city. In November of 2006, a women's shelter was added to meet the physical and spiritual needs of homeless women in the Charlotte area.
