Church in the City Women's Shelter

The CITC Women's Shelter is an outreach ministry of Victory Christian Center that provides temporary housing to single women who find themselves in need of shelter for various reasons. This 50 bed facility operates 6 PM - 10 AM weekdays and 24 hours on weekends and holidays. In addition to meeting the physical and material needs of our residents, the shelter also endeavors to minister to their spiritual needs (through weekly church services, Bible study and daily devotions) so that their lives are forever transformed for God's glory. Members desiring to join this area of ministry may serve as cooks, chaperones and medical staff.

Shelter Outreach Ministry

The VCC Shelter Outreach is a ministry of love to the men, women, and children who reside in temporary housing shelters. Every Sunday morning, outreach chaperones pray for an hour before boarding buses headed to the Salvation Army women's shelter, George Shinn men's shelter and Rehabilitation centers. While there, they invite residents to join them for service followed by dinner prepared especially for them. These special guests receive encouragement and many give their lives to the Lord. Chaperones follow-up with  them, listen to their concerns, minister compassion and understanding, refer them to the proper ministry for assistance based on their needs, and pray about their concerns.
